Napster is a music streaming service that was originally launched in 1999 as a peer-to-peer file sharing service. It was one of the first services that allowed users to share digital music files over the internet, and quickly gained popularity among music fans who were looking for an easy way to download music for free.
Napster's success was short-lived, however, as it was sued by major record labels for copyright infringement. The company was eventually forced to shut down its file-sharing service and declare bankruptcy in 2002.
In 2011, Napster was relaunched as a music subscription service, and it has since evolved into a fully licensed music streaming platform. Today, Napster offers on-demand streaming of millions of songs, as well as curated playlists, personalized radio stations, and more.
While Napster is not as well-known or widely used as some of the other major music streaming services like Spotify or Apple Music, it does have a dedicated user base and can be a valuable platform for independent artists and labels looking to distribute their music.
Napster is currently available in over 30 countries, including the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and Australia. However, it is not currently available in India.
